Theodore (Teddy) Levine was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1921. He later lived and worked
in New York City. Upon retirement he moved to Stamford, where he lived for over three decades.
He was a constant and dedicated presence at Cong. Agudath Sholom. Teddy's trademark was
his fluent Yiddish, spoken with a genuine Southern drawl. Teddy, as he was affectionately known,
had no children, however he had a great love for them. In his quiet way he encouraged the efforts
of Chabad to enhance Yiddishkeit in Stamford, and was especially fond of "di kihnderlach" -
the little children of Gan. In his memory a scholarship fund was established at Gan Yeladim
by his devoted friends, Miriam and Joseph Gelb.
